NZONE Skydive
Kiwi Education has a partnership with the number one adventure activity.
See below how you can benefit from this partnership!
New Zealand is home to some of the most picturesque scenes in the world, with pristine lakes, mountains and rivers, one can’t help but feel a desire to see it all. There is no better way to see New Zealand than from above; hence it’s no surprise to us that the 2019 Virtuosa® luxe report titled skydiving in New Zealand as the number one adventure activity.
Why jump out of an aeroplane?
It takes a certain kind of person to skydive from 15,000ft. It takes courage!! You step out of that aircraft door and for some 60 seconds you freefall at 200km/hour. Expect sensory overload as your mind, body and soul fight against every natural self-preserving urge. The personal challenge is immense. Harnessed by space age materials to an experienced qualified Jumpmaster, you step out of that aircraft door and for some 60 seconds, you plummet toward the ground at 200 kph – terminal velocity! After a 15 minute scenic flight to altitude, you will nudge towards the edge of the plane before being thrown out! Keep your head up, smile at your skydive photographer and take in the stunning surroundings. After an exhilarating freefall, you will experience a 4-5 minute parachute ride, floating safely back down to the skydive drop zone.
It’s high safety standards, an awesome Tandem Master and an out of this world view, the question more stands as to how could you not Skydive in New Zealand! At NZONE alone, the team have been sharing the thrill of skydiving with adrenaline seekers from near and far for almost 30 years! They share unique views of Queenstown and beyond and for a good reason.
Skydiving in New Zealand
There are two very distinct avenues of skydiving in New Zealand; recreational and professional. Recreational is for New Zealanders and travellers beyond who experience the thrill of skydiving via tandem. New Zealand skydiving locations include:
- Auckland
- Bay of Islands
- Taupo
- Wellington
- Abel Tasman
- Franz Joseph
- Wanaka
- Queenstown
- Glenorchy
The three primary locations in New Zealand’s South Island where you can do such a thing:
NZONE Skydive (Queenstown)
Make yourself comfortable at NZONE’s private airstrip in the Queenstown Region before taking the scenic flight to altitude. Take a deep breath before exiting the plane, freefalling over the picturesque Remarkables Mountains and Lake Wakatipu beneath. NZONE is proud to be home to world-class dropzone facilities in arguably one of the most beautiful skydiving locations on offer.
This is a check-in point for the best skydive in Queenstown, following registration and a video briefing in our innovative cinema room, you can select your photo and video options. You will be transported to our drop zone just 20 minutes away on a private airstrip set amid a rural farmland background.
Skydive Wanaka (Wanaka)
Chilled out Wanaka is home to beautiful strangers who will soon become your best mates. The extremely professional yet relaxed tandem staff will put all your fears at ease, guiding you through everything from the ground to the air. A Skydive at Skydive Wanaka will reward you stunning views of up to six lakes, the rugged Southern Alps, Mt Cook and the South Islands longest river (the Clutha).
Skydive Southern Alps (Glenorchy – Please check before go)
Skydive Southern Alps is home to arguably some of the world’s most dramatic landscape you can ever skydive over. Located 45 minutes from the heart of Queenstown, the breathtaking views on your drive out there will be a mere taster for what’s to come. The small personalised groups and skydive southern alps allow for an intimate skydive experience. The skydive itself will provide you with the best views of the Lord of the Rings ‘Middle Earth’ location.
HOW IT WORKS
One skydive host will assist you to gear up and you will be briefed by one of Tandem Masters. Your flight to altitude will take you high above the Wakatipu basin, where you will have a birds-eye view of our dramatic mountains and lakes. Jumping directly above our drop zone you will experience freefall of up to 60 seconds before your Tandem Master deploys the parachute and together you glide back to earth. After an exhilarating freefall, you will experience a 4-5 minute parachute ride, floating safely back down to the skydive drop zone. Please allow 3 hours for the entire experience!!!
